Life in Kafuta

MAKFOODS Ltd is another place where 80% of the people of Kafuta earn their living especially women.

MAKFOODS was established in Kafuta in 2007. The owner of the Company is from Kuwait by the name Mohamed Al-Kharafi. It is a Farm that is producing Potatoes and Onions as its main crops. It creates employment for up to 500 women in the area. A lot of men were also employed as staff with different skills and specialisation.

Tree Planting Exercise: 22nd August 2021 at the Community Forest

This is now an annual event mostly organized by the youths of Kafuta in collaboration with the Kafuta Village Development Committee (VDC) to transplant trees of different species in the Tunku Community Forest.

It is always embraced by the district Chief, National Assembly member for Kombo East and the elders of the Village.

During this exercise, youths across the Village, converged and put together all their efforts to plant as many trees as possible in order to combat deforestation.
